March 23th,
Jay z opened up about Drake’s recent Rolling Stone comments concerning the use
of art references in a verse on Jay Z Electronica’s “we made it” track.
Sorry
Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk.”Jay Z raps on the track.
“Silly
me,rapping’ ‘bout shit that I really bought – while these rappers rap about
guns that ain’t shot – a bunch of other silly shit that they never got”. Go in
Hove…go in.
Jay
Z’s “Drizzy” reference stems from Drake’s
trade mark alias, a name dropped several times during his interview, Drake
openly criticizes Jay Z’s references to art in his lyrics. It’s like Hov can’t
stop bars these days without atleast four art references.” Drake says in the
article. “I would love to collect Art at some point, bt I think the whole Rap
Art world thing is getting kind of corny.”
Drake
was believed to have made a reference to Jay Z and Kanye West on
“I’m
on one”
“I’m
just feeling’ like the throne is for the
taking. “Drake raps on the track. “watch me take it”.
Rolling
stone noted that Drake’s line is likely a reference to Watch the throne. A collaborative
album made by Jay Z and Kanye West in 2011.
Drake’s admit that he was not in good graces with Kanye West and
Jay Z at one point. “it was a lack of communication paired with natural
competitiveness”. Drake says in the piece. “But revealed that those two are
gods to me”.
